I'm new to VGSmail & everything seems to be working fine except for sending/replying. I still have two test emails that I'm trying to send in my outbox in the messaging program on my Sprint PPC 6700 (WM5). At first I thought that they would be sent on normal communication with Fastmail by VGSmail, that didn't work, so I tried just using the send/receive option in the menu (the way you would normally send an email if you were to send with a POP3 account), still no luck. Am I not able to send cause I'm still using a trial account or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Marshall

Hello mate,

If you go into the little vgsmail icon at the bottom of your screen open it up and look in the log file can you post it in here or tell me if you can see where it says

"message queued for sending"
"running smtp client"
"Sending messages..."
"client state = selected"
etc

can you let me know if it says that
and if once you click send the message to you get a notification come up saying "message queued for sending"?

it may be that you smtp settings are wrong which is why i need to know what it says in your log.

Many Thanks

Yes it did say "message queued for sending". However, the log resets everytime the system comes back from roaming status, right? Because the log doesn't say what happened yesterday.

Anyway, I was wrong before . . . the messages that I was trying to send weren't in the Outbox, they were actually in the Sent box. After a quick glance, I assumed they were in the Outbox because the box was highlighted (bold black) like you see in Desktop Outlook before messages are sent. For some reason, even though they had in fact been sent, they were hightlighted in the Sent folder. So I just opened them up in the Sent folder & the highlighting went away. Do you know why that happens?

Nevertheless, besides that everything seems to be working fine now...

Thanks,
Marshall

Marshall,

The highlights in all pOutlook boxes are default behavior. It's not a VGSmail issue. You can check it by creating another mailaccount & see how that one responds to different tasks.

Main difference between a pOutlook account & a VGSmail account I've noticed is that with imap pOutlook also registers the imap folders & VGSmail doesn't till now.
