Vgsmail only charges for messages sent, and there is no minimum usage,
service charge (subject to the terms and conditions) or scaled
costing. The cost of sending messages might vary (and this page will
be updated) if gateways change their charges or cheaper gateways are
located.
- The current cost of sending messages is set at GBP0.055 (5.5 pence).
- By registering your phone with vgsmail you will be given GBP0.20 (20 pence) free credit. Note: until you have made your first payment, a tag-line may be added to each message you send.
Please note: You are strongly urged to test and play with vgsmail BEFORE sending your first credit. That way you can be satisfied that vgsmail provides what you require, and is the main reason we give you free credit when you sign-up!
Our overheads are so low that we cannot cover the transaction charges imposed for very small transactions. Therefore please note the following: transactions less then GBP5.00 will be subject to a charge of GBP0.50.

Once again, we stress that this service is non-profit making and our only aim is to encourage the use of vgsmail by providing a useful service. Feel free to claim your free credit and use this to test out our functionality. If you have any queries after that, please contact us or post a question on the forum: it is better that we try and resolve these issues before you top-up your account so as to avoid transaction costs to you and to us.
Please allow for a delay of up to 24 hours between submitting your payment and the credit appearing on your account. If you submit a payment and have not received confirmation within 24 hours, please email support. In general, processing takes significantly less than this.
In all cases, a 'transaction ID' must be placed in the payment 'note' field. To generate this transaction ID, please log on to the vgsmail web interface and click on the "Purchase credit" link at the bottom of the page. This is very important: failure to include a transaction ID may result in your payment being delayed and a processing charge of GBP0.50.
Paypal charge us rather high transaction costs and so they are not ideal. However if you have no alternative, we can also accept payments via paypal to

We do ask, however, that you do not make payments for less than GBP5.00 through this method in an attempt to keep our transaction costs to a minimum.

In practise, if you wish to request a refund please contact support@vgsmail.com explaining your need for a refund and we will consider your request. We have no particular wish to keep your money unnecessarily and only include the clause in our terms in order to avoid accumulating large transaction costs.
