I am currently experimenting with a very very new feature which I thought might be useful. It is still very much under-development, but if anyone is interested please let me know.
If you use MSN Messenger, add 'msn@vgsmail.com' to your buddy list. Then PM me with your MSN userid and your vgsmail userid, and I'll get you setup. Once I've done that, to send an SMS just send a message from the Messenger client to the vgsmail 'buddy' in the following format:
sms 07971123456 This is my message
or
sms myalias This is my message
Currently you will receive no response, but the message 'should' be queued. The message will also be cropped to the first 160 characters.
New features coming soon:
- Delivery reports via MSN
- Long messages
or
sms myalias This is my message
Currently you will receive no response, but the message 'should' be queued. The message will also be cropped to the first 160 characters.

On of my most reliable routes to the UK went down yesterday and seems to be slightly unreliable today. Quite a few messages from about 19.00 last night until about midnight were not delivered. Things seem to be looking better now.
