Outage: There was a brief (about 30 minutes) unplanned outage this afternoon due to the server hardware changes which are underway. Apologies... The actual problem is rather complex and involves linux distributions and hardware changes. Everything should now be back running as usual.

- The server hardware is to be upgraded this weekend. This should have no impact on service as the swap will only be made once the new system is up and stable. It might result in very slightly increased response times, but as the current hardware is very rarely fully loaded I don't think the speed increase will be noticeable.
- As a completely seperate project, I recently implemented an SMS-to-IM interface. This allowed me to hold a MSN Messenger conversation with someone (albeit slightly slowly) via SMS when I was away from my computer. To my contacts, I therefore appear to be always 'online'. I am considering integrating this into vgsmail, but it would require a bit of effort and I will only implement it should the demand be high enough.
